Dublin City University (Ireland)
Dublin City University welcomed its first students in 1980 and is already recognised internationally as a centre of academic excellence. There are over 80 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Postgraduate research supervision is provided on a broad range of subject areas across all disciplines, including technology, engineering, business, communications, humanities, science and health. DCU was the first university in Ireland to introduce work placement (INTRA) as part of its degree programmes. There were 11,126 registered students at DCU in 2010/11.
DCU collaborates with other universities and industry in disciplines such as biotechnology, electric engineering, physics and chemistry.
